Tobias is very tall (6'7"), thin, and quite gaunt and frail looking, though anyone sparing him so much as a fleeting glance can immediately tell that he is not some weak old man. He carried himself with grace and surety, seeming to glide rather than walk.

Tobias' outwardly friendly demeanor presents itself in his posture. For someone so tall, Tobias is not intimidating unless he wants to be, and has a gentle air about him. He has a fatherly look about him, though he has no children of his own, merely considering all of his students his adopted sons and daughters.

Tobias is also an animagus; a peregrine falcon.

Tobias is, in short, a good man. He is exceedingly honest, straightforward, kind, and generous. He acts like he was born to teach, and loves students. He treats everyone with respect, and commands it from others. He is open with his students and his colleagues, and cautious and careful in these troubled times.

However, Tobias is also a dangerous man. Powerful enough to command respect even from Lord Voldemort, Tobias is slow to anger, and cold and calculating in combat. He seems to be almost a different person when he is up against a fellow magician. There is a noticeable shift in the air about him when the topic of combat arises, and those around can see quite clearly that he is more than a frail old man.

Important Memories:
Very little is known, even by Lord Voldemort and his closest followers, what Tobias' past consisted of before he came to England. What they do know was that next to the Dark Lord himself, Tobias is quite possibly the most dangerous wizard on the planet. Good and evil wizards alike had disappeared when they opposed him.

When Hogwarts fell to Voldemort, Tobias was in the country and chose that moment to appear. Within weeks, he had procured the position of Headmaster of the new Hogwarts, after defeating Voldemort's previous four choices in duels. His skill impressed the Dark Lord, if nothing else. Tobias refused to be branded with either the literal or figurative label of 'Death Eater' and it seemed even Voldemort demurred from pressing the point when Tobias was willing to serve and so talented.

Since the resurrection of the school, Tobias has kept very much to himself, exploring the school when he has the time to, and keeping in constant contact with the man he at the very least pretends to follow. All of the Death Eaters, however, can sense the tension building and wonder when it will come to a head.

Tobias is a master duelist, with over half a century of experience, and is known widely around the school to be unmatched in the areas of Occlumency and Legilimency.
